About Mental Illness Education ACT Inc (MIEACT)

MIEACT is an innovative and well-respected community mental health educator, which, since 1993, has worked to promote understanding and awareness of mental health throughout the ACT community. By embracing the lived experience, MIEACT’s mission as a purpose driven, not-for-profit organisation is to develop and deliver education awareness programs in schools, businesses and the community that increase mental health knowledge and awareness, and support early intervention education and health promotion. Centrally located in Civic, MIEACT has a small vibrant staff team and over fifty volunteers.

About the role

We’re growing our pool of casual trainers to deliver a range of MIEACT programs including:

·         Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

·         Allied health and GP training

·         Workplace education

·         Safe story telling

·         Youth mental health and well-being

You will receive training and support to deliver these sessions to the Canberra community on a casual basis.

Selection Criteria

We’re looking for experienced and passionate educators who understand mental health issues.

You will need a minimum of a Cert IV in training and assessment, your own reliable transport and a Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check.
