'Body Image, Body Scrimmage' was a project with a difference. About body image and self-esteem; at its core is the voice of young people. ‘Scrimmage’ means a scrum or tussle, and young Canberran authors and artists turned their imagination to the scrum-like thoughts and feelings that we often have about our bodies and self-esteem, and how these are resolved. The result is two bound collections of vibrant, highly accessible and diverse stories, poems and cartoons –Body Image Body Scrimmage and Attack of the Barbies. Both books reflect humour, wisdom and some very talented writing. They have broad appeal as a good read for young people and as invaluable resources for adults who are working with young people on body image and self-esteem issues.
