Stories Changing Minds

Published in 2007, ‘Stories Changing Minds’ charts the pathways that MIEACT took to remain a consumer and carer-focused organisation and can be used as a resource for developing not-for-profit organisations.  The MIEACT model ‘Stories Changing Minds’ can be applied to agencies’ approaches to community education, health promotion, peer support or organisational representation. First Person Stories

Stories of people’s experience of mental illness have an additional human interest factor, because for so long stigma has maintained a strong silence around mental illness, and personal stories have historically not been told, even within families.  MIEACT’s “Story Room” on this website and our youth site, RealityCheck, include a broad collection of people recounting their experiences with mental illness in our Story Room.
